Wolf sanctuary visit - Sunday 20th March
R13 member, Tony Haighway, has offered us the opportunity to visit his wolf sanctuary near Bishops Castle. Numbers are limited to just 16 people, and in anticipation of being oversubscribed we have decided to hold a draw to decide who will attend.

The visit will commence at 10.30 am and afterwards there is the option of lunch at the Three Tuns in Bishops Castle. The cost will be a donation of £10 per head to the sanctuary, plus of course lunch, which is around £12 to £14 for main course.

If you are interested, please advise Steve or Phil and they will enter you in the draw.

AS EXPECTED WE WERE OVERSUBSCRIBED, SO PLEASE SEE POST BELOW FOR THE LIST OF THOSE LUCKY MEMBERS WHO WERE DRAWN OUT OF THE HAT FOR THE VISIT

Friday will be the last day to add your name if you are interested in attending this event. Patrick will organize the draw over the weekend / Monday and we should inform the lucky members Monday / Tuesday.
Good Luck

Jack and Jean Clemson

Pat Henson will meet everyone at a pre arranged place near to Bishops Castle at around 10.15 am and he will lead them to the Sanctuary.
Similarly, he will lead everyone from the sanctuary to the lunch pub after the visit.

Things to note:-

The sanctuary is Porsche accessible (Tony Highway drives his in and out) but the roads leading up to it are narrow and quite dirty with a steep decent into the sanctuary. The lunch pub does not have a designated car park and we will be parking on the street.

Waterproof foot wear plus warm outdoor clothing is necessary for the tour of the sanctuary.

The visit will start with a casual classroom presentation with light refreshments followed by the outdoor tour.

If you were unlucky in the draw but would still like to join us for lunch, then you are very welcome - just let Steve or Phil know.

These are the arrangements for the day:

Pat Henson will meet you all in the Livestock Auction car park in Station Street, Bishops Castle, SY9 5AD

Please note that the A489 between its junction with the A49 and the B4370 will be closed. A diversion via Marshbrook is in place which will add approximately 8 minutes to your journey if coming this way.

We will depart for the Wolf Sanctuary (approx 10 minute drive) at 10.15 am. Anyone who is running late can contact Pat on 07766 622909.

Don’t forget to bring waterproof footwear and warm/waterproof clothing depending on the forecast.

Everyone had a very interesting time at the sanctuary, and the region expresses its sincere thanks to Tony Haighway for giving us the opportunity to visit.
A collection by the members to show their appreciation raised £170 for the veterinary fund.
