Unusual sale...

Tomorrow I am going to look at a house for sale where the owner wants me also to buy his collection of ten classic cars as well. I have no idea what they are yet.

I had a similar one last week where the old boy wanted me to take a house off his hands together with the shed full of antiques and a classic BMW motorbike.

Its odd how the two situations came along so close together...
 
Wasn't there a case last year where a chap was throwing in his Ferrari as part of the house sale just to gain publicity and stand out in the crowded housing market?

Went to see the house today. The "collection" was as follows:

Fiat Topolino (Blue)
Wolseley 1500 (Black)
Morris Marina (Green)
Fiat 126 (White)
Morris Traveller (Rusty)
Austin Vanden Plas
Yugo
Massey Fergusson Tractor
Morris BMC Luton
Morris 1300
Wolseley 1100
6 x Scrap vehicles
Morris 1000
Austin 7
Singer 9
Vauxhall 12
Austin A30
James 250 1951 motorbike
Citroen Diane
Fiat 126

However, most were virtually scrap left out in a farm yard. The old boy doesn't actually live in the house, he lives in a caravan. I thought he would either want a ridiculously small sum for the house and cars or a huge one. Sadly it was the latter. He wants a vast sum, and when he told me the price of each car he was giving me the price of a good one, whereas his were not good.

So much for my mansion-idea, Manks!
Sounds like an old Norfolk farmer I used to know. He didn't need money personally, he was just trying to amass a large lump sum to give to his sons - believe he felt guilty about his past treatment of them.His "collection" was just like that - a mass of scrap. But he still viewed them with young eyes, as if he had just finished driving them.Completely out of touch with reality.
