Unofficial cayman drive 3 July ? Derbyshire/Yorkshire area

I could do Sun 13th if something goes ahead.

it would be good to try some new roads...as I'm on the Chester / Wales boarder most of my trips are into North Wales. Just be aware the last time I suggested something small / local it took off and grew to 30+ cars I think from multiple regions just before COVID put pay to it anyway.

 
Hello all caymanites. Following the very lovely run round the Hope Valley and Buxton on Sunday (that unfortunately I could only do the pub bit of - due to foot operation and no driving) I wondered if anyone was interested in a weekend run from Ladybower reservoir to 3 Acres pub... up near the Emley Moor mast... fantastic windy route over the Strines and up near the Flouch (old pub, no longer there! Huddersfield area). Scenery is fantastic and the pub does lovely food and has a large car park. https://www.3acres.com/


I’ve suggested some dates but would be open to suggestions...now had to change... see new ones above!

I hope so... just let me know if so as we can book outside tables up to 30 by then!

UPDATE

I'm looking at meeting up at Fairholmes Car Park at Ladybower Reservoir at 11.00 am on Saturday 3rd - I think the drive should take about 50 mins. If anyone would like to join it that would be lovely - I'm also likely to be doing a "test" version tomorrow (Saturday 27th) just to check the roads are all open etc... I'm happy to meet elsewhere - for example at the Royal Oak at the bottom of the Snake Pass on the 3rd if anyone is coming in that way.

I'm hoping that we can round up a few people - it'd be lovely to get out and see other members. At the moment it looks like Dan (Scrounger) and Laurence...

Hi Erica,

It was good to meet you on Sunday and we hope that your foot is soon feeling better following your operation. The prospect of another Cayman adventure is appealing and your proposed route sounds great, we are currently available on the 12th or the 13th June.

I applaud anyone suggesting a date and willing to round up the sheep for a drive out. I'm all for it. Consider me signed up Erica.

I'm might rerun the Macc-Buxton-Bretton-Hathersage-Castleton-WB-Macc route we did last week on 5th or 6th June with a new found Caymanite (currently a non club member - but that will change) to give him an experience of 'the joy of convoy' cayman style.

I'm a possible for the 12th and 13th Erica as i'm on standby again those 2 days! The joys of only getting one weekend in 4 off[:(]

... best laid plans... look like I’m having to change the date... so now looking at 27th June or 3 or 4 July .... sorry everyone. I’ll change the title and I hope anyone that said yes can still make it!

 
That sounds good Dave, it might be nice to do that too... could still do the 3 Acres trip for anyone that could make either 27 or 4 then?

 
It looks like I'm going to do the 3rd or 4th July - the 3rd looks more promising. I appreciate it'll be the Boxster Cup at Oulton park that day, however if it causes a real clash for anyone I could do the 4th.

So, at the moment it looks like me, Dan and Laurence. Anyone else out there? The final destination is very near Yorkshire Sculpture Park if anyone fancies a trip there afterwards (it might encourage people to bring their partners?)

Likely to meet up at 11.00 ish at Ladybower reservoir - maybe Fairholmes car park.
