Unable to set time and date on 2010 Panamera 4S

Hello
I have used a local independent garage for my Panamera for the last 7+ years and he has always looked after it well. A couple of months ago I had a new timing chain, new rear coils springs and a new battery fitted. Since then, the time and date have not been visible - just dashes - and I am unable to set them by following instructions in the manual. The garage knows about this but is also unable to sort the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
