Tyres for a 964 ?

Just a quick hi to everyone. I'm a new member and this is my first time using the Forum !

I'm hoping someone can help me with my tyre choice for my '90 C2. The car is lowered with the use of full RS suspension. I've had the car for 6 months and the tread is getting low. It currently sits on Yokos but i've heard Toyo Proxies are good - any advice ?
 
Bridgestone S02's on mine. fitted and balanced by a guy who own's porkers, £525.

I like mine a lot, plenty of confidence in the wet, running 29psi front, 36 rears 205/17 and 255/17 respectively.

I run the SO2's (N3 rated) also.......

Can highly recommend them as I have tried a few different brands on a couple of 944's & 911's.

The americans are talking about the SO2a's (N4 rated) on RennList! Is this Bridgestone's answer to the criticism's of the SO3's?

Unable to get hold of any Bridgestones through my local people i've gone for the Pirelli P Zero Rossos and the friendly guys will refurb all four alloys as well - nice bunch !

Who says Essex is all bad ?

I'm in Essex......I managed to get S02's Tire Tech of Braintree in case anyone else is listening. took some time as I specified them above any other, but I like them.

Picked up the car last night , freshly shod in Pirelli Rossos. Wasn't able to give it a good run but a quick trip around the 'B' roads of Southend gave an indication that the grip is ten times better than with with a set of barely road legal Yokos !!

Also got the wheels refurbished. The job is completed within the day and other than the guy losing one of my valve caps ( which he's replacing ) the finish is brilliant. It saves putting your car on axel stands for a week.
 
.. having now seen my car in daylight on Saturday morning I would like to retract my previous comment. Althought the work on the alloys was great - the refurb guy ( or who I now refer to as ' the cowboy ' ) deemed it fit to cover my rear wheel arches and all four brake clalipers with the coating used on the wheels. This was not visible when I picked the car up ( half six at night ). I got a very unsatisfactory response from the garage on Saturday morning and have now instructed Barclaycard to retrieve my payment.

Hi Bones,

Yes, there is currently silver spray on the rear arches and it fades nicely up to the rear side windows. It also is covering all the brakes ( discs and callipers ) and some of the tyre walls. Needless to say i'm pretty p!ssed off about it ! I haven't touched it myself yet incase Barclaycard sent someone down to look at it but i'm hoping that it may t-cut off.
 
God I'm fuming for you!......What's the name of these tossers so all of us remember never to go there. There are some very good Industry products available for cutting , if I were you I would get in touch with someone like Roger Bray and ask him if you can go down there and have the stuff removed and the car polished, it's a long way to the South West but he is very good. Don't go near a H.R. Owen body shop . Ring Autostrasse at Coggeshall , they will be able to recommend someone near you and also ring Autofarm they will be able to recommend a good bodyshop too.

cheers. I'm seeing Ken and Alan at Autostrasse next month for a service and seeing as it will be a long drawn out afair with regards to getting a refund - i'll see what they have to say on the matter of removing the paint.

I'm just glad I paid on a credit card as now I have someone fighting my corner for me !
 
They do know someone locally who they've recommended in the past to me . If Alan Rouse reckons they're good than they probably are.
