My 2023 C2S was supplied with Goodyear Asymmetric 3 tyres. Having had the standard Pirelli and then Michelin‘s on my previous 991.II (and preferring Michelin on that car) have found the Goodyear tyres feel well suited to road use on the 992. Steering is the most linear I have experienced and reading some accounts of a vagueness around the straight ahead position with current Michelins, had decided to stay with Goodyear but look at any later versions as this tyre dates from around 2016. Asking my OPC they say the 3’s remain the NA rated tyre for the 992 and Goodyear have confirmed this. The later Asymmetric 5 and 6’s are rated NF1/NF0 so are for the Taycan. Until recently I had not fully appreciated there are model specific ratings NA (911), NB (Boxter/Cayman), NC (Cayenne), ND (Panamera), NE (Macan) and NF (Taycan) and then a whole set from GT cars. The responses to a recent question on here about mixing NA and N rated tyres on the same axle did not mention this (the N rated one is for GT variants). This is not prominent anywhere and it might be worth a note in the excellent technical articles setting out all the ratings. I am happy to do this but am sure others are more versed in this. Regarding tyre development it does seem, at the moment, that it is focusing more on EVs. As already mentioned the NA rated Goodyears date from 2016 but the Pirelli P Zero is also 2016, the latest Michelin PS4S meanwhile are 2022 (up from 2017) and Continental are 2021.
