I have a 1993 C2 Targa and I'm looking for recommendations for a decent tyre fitting outfit in my neck of the woods (Kingston upon Thames).
I've just purchased two new Bridgestone SO2 N3's to replace the N2's currently fitted to the rear 17" Cup 1 wheels on my car. Though I've read these are no longer available, I found prices quoted on a few websites and bought mine at £115 each from Mytyres, having first checked how old they would be. I've found the SO2 N2's currently fitted to be a bit noisy from inside the car and the ride can be quite harsh, especially when the tyres are cold. However, I've been happy with the grip, both in the dry and when it's wet. The new tyres match a pair of SO2 N3's already fitted on the front wheels which have plenty of tread left.
I've read that tyre balancing on Porsche wheels requires weights to be glued on the inside of the wheel, so I'm guessing I should just whizz down to my local Kwikfit with my new tyres. Does anyone have any good experiences with tyrefitters in my area, particularly ones offering a fit-only service.
Thanks in advance.
