Turbo vs Supersport

I am doing my homework on the possibility of buying either a 911 930 Turbo or the Super sport version from the 80s.

I would like to hear from owners or people that have more knowledge than I do on both of these cars, which would be the best buy?

It would be nice to purchase one of these and run it and enjoy while hopefully it would hold its value or even increase

At present looking around the Turbos are from 110k upwards and just recently Borders had a nice Supersport at 119k,

If people could let me know your experience and comments on such ownership, running costs, servicing etc, I would greatly appreciate it

My last 996 Carrera 4S was bought with zero knowledge and reading about them now, perhaps I was lucky.

I appreciate that I’m biased, but I did have a 3.2 Super Sport cabriolet for a while, and found it deeply disappointing; all show and no go. In fact, when I wanted topless motoring, I used my TVR Griffith instead.
The performance of the 930 is on a different scale entirely; nothing beats the push in the rear that you get when the turbocharger kicks in. Having said that, if you choose to, you can pootle around all day within the national speed limits without ever disturbing the beast lurking beneath your right foot!
