Well my 944 has disgraced itself by throwing up its first unexpected large bill after a mere 9 years of ownership[
]. There is a leak from the sump gasket. Only a small leak but it is directly above the exhaust so the fumes and plumes of white smoke when it has been unused for a while are not ideal! I understand this is a very labour intensive job, requiring the crossmember to be lowered.
So, faced with approx 14 hours of labour, are there any "while you are in there" jobs I should get done? I will get the oil pickup pipe checked and I guess it is possible to inspect the bearings for wear. Any other suggestions appreciated.
