Turbo struts on an S?

I need to replace my front shocks as they are shot. I thought mine had inserts but they don't so that leaves limited options.

I know I can get Koni inserts and modify the existing strut but would a Turbo strut be compatible with my current springs that seem ok?

Any advice or offers of struts for sale much appreciated!

IIRC you need to use '89 on struts as the springs got smaller in diameter due to ABS clearance (S2 have the smaller diameter springs also) This MAY have happened earlier - 87-88? but I can't say for sure. Looking at the PET, it looks like Fitchel & Sachs sport shocks and Koni (M030) are used on both the S2 and Turbo. Your standard springs won't "match" the valving of the sport or M030 shocks but not sure what effect that will have.
I have installed the Koni inserts on my standard S2 and find them quite an improvement over the originals for road use - even on full soft. Mind you one strut had about 2" of "dead space" so anything functioning correctly would have been an improvement :)
