Seen these on Ebay :-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110670419037

Real or not, they need a good refurb, which brings me to :-

Would they refurb ?
At what price ?
Are they a correct fit for a 964 narrow body ?

Thanks

Ian

I think they'll be around £1K to refurb and yes they are the correct fit for a 964 NB. Be interesting to see how much they sell for.

I am not at home this eve but I think that these are the same wheels that my 964RSL came out of the factory on under the special wishes programme.

I can check the offsets when I get home but they look about right.

If they are pukka Speedlines they should have "Speedline for Porsche" etched into the wheel rim (assuming that they haven't been poorly refurbed already).

Cheers,
Kevin

I think they'll fetch good money as they don't come up very often. A set for sale recently were BNIB and the asking price was £3.5k.

The centres will should be refurbishable - blasted and repainted. The rims might need replacing or might respond to a good polish depending how deep the oxidisation is. The bolts will need to be replaced - there's 160 of them at around €2 each.

The £1k figure is about right if it's just polish/paint and new bolts. Rims are obviously more. You can do it yourself but it takes time and commitment. The 'Speedline for PORSCHE' lettering can be redone with very careful media blasting.

So... the winning bid was £1,651.00 but the sale fell through due to the winning bidder not paying a deposit on time. They were re-listed, but then promptly taken off eBay within a day. So, did they sell to the original bidder at £1.6k - or were they offered to the second highest bidder?

Did anyone on here bid?

They looked very rough and I think a bit of a risk to bid based on the seller's description and the photos. A bit of an unknown animal and you'd only truly know the condition when you went to collect.

The seller also (in classic eBay style) didn't have a clue what he really had when he listed, but had become an expert on the high value of Porsche Speedlines by the time the auction ended. [:D]

If these were going to end up 2.5k-3k refurbed then Id prefer to buy a known clean straight set......patience is the virtue[:)]
