thinking about swapping my 991.2 g t s for a turbo s , turbo is for sale in Porsche chester and only done very low mileage..
 
If you are after outright performance go for it but I suspect the GTS is better balanced. With the turbo the problem is that you are so quickly at licence losing speeds that it is difficult to "exercise" the car.

The Turbo S is an exceptional piece of kit and if you have an urge to own one, go ahead. Life's too short to later regret not doing something.
It's prodigiously fast and not for the faint hearted, but you're an experienced 911 owner so won't have difficulty adapting to the different driving style.

I have a 991.1 Turbo S and it is the Porsche I have ever had. The step up from just the Turbo is very evident. I am pleased that although it has taken the 992 Turbo S to get the recognition it deserves as the absolute best all round everyday performance car. Good for shopping, touring, track (and in my case sprints as I currently hold the local record for the class although our course has a chicane in it but when asked for a press quote I did point out that "The Car is the Star".)

I am loathe to upgrade to the 992 Turbo S as my car suits all my needs but as soon as we are free to travel I will seriously consider it. Nothing better for all round capability regardless of the money.

Get one before petrol engines are phased out

What modifications have you done please fireblade?

 
Absolutely none!

Straight out of the box unless you count the Porsche Club and a few other windscreen stickers!

I believe that the manufacturer builds for the best all round performance although of course various mods can be made depending upon specific requirements although sometimes a gain in one area is at the expense of another. I only have one car so it has to do everything I need.

I sprint the car as "Road going series production unlimited" (class 502)

I have replaced the original Pirelli's (they didn't last long!) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S which feel much better and seem to be wearing much better.

I would like to get the 992 Turbo S when travel gets possible even though it is a lot of cash for about one tenth faster to 62 mph and about 5 more mph as I fear that it might be the last of the really good petrol Porsches.

 
I’ve looked at the Turbo S at Chester on the internet, have you viewed the car?
also it’s 6 months over due it’s 2 yr service which seems strange. I assume they
are putting through the Porsche used programme and providing at least 2 years Warranty and servicing the car.
Do you know the history of the car, very very low mileage, I’m tempted to buy as my 991.2 GT3 is not very user friendly day to day...
have they offered you a good deal?

Not viewed the car in the flesh yet . Seems a bit over priced and the very low miles needs to be explained, all depends on the price to change.
