Hi Guys,

Firstly ill get the apolergise out of the way, i cant spell and i seek basic info as im stuck here in spain and help is a little on the thin !!

Well here goes,

I currently run a B7 RS4 out here, i need the spped fix ! I run a 997 turbo and a Range Rover in the UK. The misses likes the size of the Range Rover and i Like the speed of the turbo. So as she hates the RS4 and im sick of getting my ear bent ive been on the look out for a nice (its hard out here) Cayenne Turbo S.

Ive been emailed today someone looking to swap my RS4 for an 2006 Turbo S, Result ! As its quicker than i was expecting to happen im stuck and entering unknown territory, so my questions are,

The difference between a TURBO and a TURBO S ? And how to spot it.

What to look for when testing/buying ?

What are the common problems ?

And the big one, my 997 turbo does about 25mpg, im hereing 13mpg for a cayenne turbo S ? Surley this cant be correct ?

The Turbo s is up at €46000 about the same as the RS4 ! Prices are silly out here !

John,

Cant help you with the individual differences with the turbo and the turbo s on the older shape, alot will depend on how the car was specified. Porsche web site should help.

I currently run a 2009 turbo s, my father has a 2008 turbo. Leaving aside the differences in spec and concentrating on the power and fuel consumption. the s is quicker on acceleration for point and squirt (marginal though), for every day driving it makes no difference.

Fuel on a long run I get 17 mpg approx, 15 to 16 around the town. My fathers turbo returns much the same.

Cheers

Tom
