Turbo boost pressure suddenly low after working on car

Hi,

Wonder if someone could point me in the right direction please? Just got car back after having recon steering rack fitted. All going well but boost seems to have a bit less kick to it. I'm sure it used to get up to about 1.8 bar gauge on the std dash gauge. Now seems to be more like 1.5 bar? Roads a bit greasy so have not been able to give it too much of a test drive but it just seems to have a bit less of a kick. Also feels a bit rougher when not on boost. Seems to lack a bit of power low down when climbing a hill etc. Might be imagining that though..

Is there anything that may have been knocked during work that I should look for. Car has a promax boost enhancer and bailey dump valve.

Craig you need to check all of your vacuum and boost hoses. Especially to the dump valve. Does it have a dual port wastegate? If it has a standard wastegate then check the line to the top of the wastegate from the cycling valve.
 
Hoping I've sussed this. Had a look over the car last night. The plastic fitting on top of the dump valve was loose - not even finger tight - so am hoping that was the problem. Unfortunately was unable to test drive to check as I'd had too many glasses of red by then. :)
 
Sounds as though that could be the problem as pressure in the system would be lost if it was loose....................you can never have too many glasses of red !
A nice little number is Valle De Vida a Chilean Merlot at only £3.99 from Morrisons, try it you will be surprised at how good it is for not a lot of money.
 
Cheers Frenchy, yet to find a bad Chilean red. Will keep an eye out for that one. Still not driven car as I am travelling for work this week.

Gauge is actually doing what it should. Had Porsche indy check it out and all is fine. Also put the under bonnet sound deadening material back last night and car sounds much quieter now. Sounds much smoother now whereas before it seemed a bit lumpy.

Roads a bit less wet today so had a proper blast this morning after the school drop and the "seat of the panrts" gauge says all is well :)

It's good to hear that everything is okay. This time of year is expensive enough without any wallet unfriendly happenings with the car.
