Turbo at Bedford last Friday Evening

timbo

New member
I took the Turbo around Bedford autodrome last Friday Evening
there where 25 cars there and I think I did ok - I kept up with a few GT3s
It was obviously a lot heavier than the RS so I had to adjust the Braking points
I also could not get on the power as quick as the RS due to the understeer
I had the PSM off and the Aircon off - I also had to adjust the preesures as they went off the scale
My missus said I was doing 2.54 which is not bad

I only did 2-3 laps at a time ,with a lap cooling down
I suggest anyone who owns one of these cars to go to bedford - the run offs are huge and you learn
to see how these cars handle at the absolute limit ( I was doing 4 wheels powerslides ) you cant do that on the
road !!!!!!!!

The next Bedford evening is June 9th

Glad to see you gave the GT3's something to think about !

What is the noise limit at Bedford. I was thinking of going but have a sports exhaust so not sure if they will allow me.

Jon

Jon,
It is 87db drive by -- you should be ok..... there was 3 Manthay converted cars there with upgraded exhausts
they had not problem
If you do trigger the noise limiters they tell you to short shift

tim

Ahem.....

I had a problem Tim, i got pulled early on for noise, and by the way the drive by is
87.5db.

They moved one of the microphones, so once i knew where it was, i managed to blag my way out again, and stay fairly quiet by lifting off past them.[]

Good to meat you mate, that Turbo of yours looks pretty new ??, i bet the tyres took a hammering, like the wheel colour comb.

I took my turbo round there last year, and i could really notice the weight difference.

And yes, you were going well in it, made me and Russell brake nice and late for the Chicane to get past you[;)]

Oh yes, Was it your birthday Friday ?? if so Hope you had a wet one !!!

Howdy all,
Great to hear that some of you are going to the ring and then on to spa.
A few of us from Ireland are headin to the ring saturday evening and sunday, then headin off to Spa 24 / 25th.
we are going in a GTSRS, 993 TURBO AND 968CS., , look out for a bunch of irish ejits with grins on their faces, that will be us. !

By the way, I know the 24th is booked out, however a good mate of mine was booked in , (ticket to spa paid for) has had to shy off as he got some bad news lately and his Spa entry for the 24th may be available.............any interest.
