Are all oval dash rev counters the same with the exception of the turbo gauge on the superior cars and not on the riffraff? Any difference in the mechanism?
Thinking I might carve up the spare rev counter I have to accept a digital afr/boost etc.
Just need to make sure the rev reading will be correct.

Hmmmm.... I think you intended to say ...

Are all oval dash rev counters the same with the exception of the turbo gauge on the blow hard cars and not on the normally aspirated? [:D]

We non turbo folks have to stick up for ourselves.....

Obviously, the ones on Turbos move their needles clockwise much more quickly than on the normally aspirated cars, so that's one difference...

That's very true. I imagine the gear ratios must be very different so I should think very carefully about fitting an inferior one as it must just be overwhelmed by the speed of the motion that is required of it.
Ah well I shall have to find one of the superior ones.

PS Anyone know the real answer?

I think you will find that the superior ones with the big proper engine in don't need a gauge for the hair drier on the ones with the puny wee engine.
I thought I better set the record staight before Oli got upset.

See I 've got your back bother! ( just please don't mention the incident with the minners hat and double cream)

No we don't. I'm happy to stand back and let those turbo folks blow them selves up with their hot air; us owners of superior cars can just get on with the job of owning and driving them ...

(You'd never find a sensible S2 owner carving up a speedometer to fit a digital afr/boost etc - whatever one of those is!)

If that was aimed at me then I don't know what you're talking about! (Mind you, I haven't forgotten about the bucket of soapy frogs and the wetsuit with the bottom cut out .... )
