Just thought i'd ask !! Do any of you guys know of a good B&B in the centre of Douglas that may have accomadation for TT week ( 3rd June til 7th) Brgrds Keith

'Oliver' is right. More space less hype, better bikes, more about racing rather than getting legless. Real people.
Reccomended.
Better still, bring your Porsche over and join us in May. ' Porscheshop Manx Tour 2006' Date to br finalised. A price you won't beleive.

Our cottage at Laxey will be available(not B&B though). On the road to Ramsey so not trapped by closed roads, easy access to mountain roadand course.
Is detached traditional ex miner's cottage in largeish garden,one double,one twin(with washbasin),lounge ,living/dining room,kitchen(hob&combination microwave)bathroom(with bath) and separate toilet.
Several nice restaurants around inc the Mona Lisa down near the harbour[:)]

I've been for the last 4 years and its getting progressivly more difficult. The steam racket is robbery with violence so check you can get a sailing. I've stayed in castle mona hotel on the front which was ok but increased its prices by 60% the following year. The best homestay goes quick and there are some very very nice people with some great accomodation. There is however a lot of crap and despite what the manx would have you believe complaining to the tourist board does not pull up any trees. Try and book before christmas as it goes a bit wild afterwards.

Don't think i'm negative 'cos i'm not...i am a little pished at being ripped off year after year..however it is still the finest motorsport spectcle i have ever seen and everyone should see it at least once (if they can afford it that is[;)])

TT Tips
1. Do NOT try and keep up with a bike on manx plates
2. Do NOT try and out drink the irish, they are all mad and far better trained than us.
3. Keep to the speed limits (happy in the knolwedge there aint one on the mountain!!)
4. Kebabs are never a good idea
5. Busheys make the best beer
6. If overtaken at 130mph (as i was[&:])..chalk it down to experience
