Hi Hu
Im not sure what the answer to that is...
I can check with the RO for you, and post a reply when I hear back from him.
As the price we have for this trip is discounted against the normal cost - I would imagine that membership would be a requirement for the discount, but may be ok at a higher price.... Im unsure so will check for you.
You could always join, get the discount and a good magazine through your letter box every month[;)]

Cheers

Porscheball is very questionable, unless you want to pay over the odds and stay 30 miles from the circuit []

For what they quote it should be £225 for both of you not each. You can get the same Ferry crossing for £50 and a double room in the same hotel for 2 for 3 nights for £180, so why pay the extra [&o]

Stick to trips that stay in the village at Nurburg at the circuit not 30 miles away, like everyone else does and since they have built a new series of hotel complexes at the Nurburgring why stay miles away in a cheap 3 star hotel.

Hi Chester911 - nice post!

Your signature says that you are not a PCGB member - if this is correct I cant see how you can comment on a club & independent promoted trip.
Please consider the following points, and read posts properly before posting negative comments!

  • Firstly the club trip is backed up by a Porscheshop support vehicle and fully trained staff - doing this alone is a service that you would not be able to provide.
  • Hotel to be used for the trip is is a 4* NOT 3* as you say.
  • The Hotel to be used is in Bonn - and the drive through the mountains is designed to part of the trip and the experience.
  • Secure parking is assured at the Hotel.
  • Their are additional organised trips around the region (see original post ).
  • Health & Safety briefings - important for members who have not been to the ring before and dont want to bend their cars or parts of the track - again drawing on the previous experiences of the organiser.
  • The trip is not a purely 'ring focussed' event and is designed for members and their partners as a short break to Germany that includes driving the ring itself.
  • The trip is organised completely - all our members need to do is sign up, pay, and enjoy they have no organising to do and the Porscheball guys will ensure that we all have fun
I appreciate positive or constructive comments on the R13 section of the forum but not negative ones or those promoting other clubs/trips etc at the detrement to PCGB.

Regards

Adam

I[FONT=arial"] wholly agree with Adam's comments here, this will be the 4th year Porscheshop have supported this excellent event, & like with our Isle of Man tours it is designed predominantly to give members a trouble free, well rounded event with the emphasis on socializing, touring & all round enjoyment.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Hi Hu
Thats great news!
If you enter your membership number in your profile your member status should show up in the avatar.

Im not sure but your local region would be R14 and they meet at Neyland in Pembrokeshire but as a member you are free to visit any region (if you travel with work this can be a great way to see the club)
If you are ever in the Herefordshire/Shrops/Worcs are you will get a warm welcome R13 last Tuesday of every month at the Bowling Green in Hadley.

Welcome to the club.
