Treasure Hunt - volunteer sought

Is there any R10 member willing to volunteer to organise a car-based treasure hunt around the environs of Stoke Bruerne for one of our Monthly Meetings?

Ideally if someone can step forward before 28 February, we could run this for our May Monthly Meeting (Sunday,14th May) and advertise it sufficiently through our Regional report in Porsche Post. If not, it may have to be delayed until 10th September [8|] .

The plan would be to hold the hunt over the afternoon from The Navigation, with a winner announced around 5pm. Not a speed competition, but an observation / clues based one.

Not wishing to be too keen and quick off the mark, but I, well actually it was Denise, said we'd be happy to do it (Thanks D). She is as keen as mustard.

Unless of course anyone else has a strong preference to do it.

Thanks Tony/Denise. (Sorry if you had made this offer before and I overlooked it [8|]). Are you okay with the suggested May date? If so, I'll put it in PPost.

Just something to bear in mind. We considered running a treasure hunt in R18 a couple of years ago but were warned off by Steve Kevlin regading insurance issues, even though it would have been like you event, and purely observational. In view of the possible 'health & safety' issues surrounding another event being posted on the forum it might be worth having a word with Steve Kevlin.

The plans are being made and the course organised for a Treasure Hunt on the afternoon of Sunday May 14th.

Depending on the number of people joining, this will determine how we go about getting it approved. So can I ask for a show of hands please who will be hoping to take part in this. Reply to this thread if interested.

The current information that I can share with you, although subject to some adjustments and fine tuning, is:

Each team will consist of one vehicle only. The number of people in a team can be anything between 2-5 as long as they all fit in the vehicle legally. There will be an entry fee of 5.00 per team which will cover the cost of administration and prizes. The goal is to obtain as many points as possible (based on finding the answers to clues) and travelling the shortest distance. Timing will not be a component in the final results.
Teams will gather at a time and location (in R10), to be announced later. Each team will be given instructions of the route and clues and puzzles to solve. Teams will be started one at a time with a starting gap of approximately 5 minutes.

Details will be clarified over the next few weeks, so who's interested?

We're up for it [:)]!

Note: This will replace the regular evening Monthly Meeting for May.

If more than twelve cars are involved then the police must be informed with all the details. Best to use clues that can be spotted from a moving car, they don't like a few cars parked in awkward places with doors left wide open that could be a potential hazard.[:)]
