Just a wee post to say how much fun this was. Best thing I've done in ages, and gave me new found respect for the abilities of my car.

Even though limited to a few laps, the one to one instruction was excellent and made quite a difference to my driving.

45 minutes of open track time, a bit of instruction and all for only £45...this was a superb day.

And I though the 3 boxsters were doing pretty well for "hairdressers" cars, I think we surprised a few people with just how quick we were.

I'm definitely going to take one of the performance driving courses now, 25 laps of instruction for £90....after that I should be ready for a real track day.

If anyone else was considering this and was a bit nervous like me, don't be....get out there and have some fun, all cars came back unblemished.

This was possibly also a big boost to the chances of holding the PCGB track day next year, as I'm sure there are a t least 3 or 4 more members now who would commit after getting this bit of experience.

Only had the one spin, putting the power down too quickly coming out of the hairpin, but the car handled very well indeed and was very chuckable through the corners.
Think I'll organise to do the one-to-one track session too, but will probably wait until the Spring now.
Wonder if they'd let us do the Track Day School again? How long can we get away with pretending to be novices???? [8|]

Have sent a (grovelling) e-mail to Knockhill, congratulating them on the format of the event, and asking if we can do it again next year!!! [;)]
 
Thought I'd give you guys a laugh. [:D]
Neill (911 Carrera SuperSport) received an e-mail from Sasha at Knockhill regarding contact from journalists following saturdays Track Day School. He copied the e-mail to me and I replied with something along the lines of "Think you're on there, mate". Only trouble is, I would appear to have sent it not to Neill, but directly to Sasha! Doh!!! [:mad:]

Anyway, my mate took some footage on the day, and I have been a bit creative with Windows Movie Maker, and the finished results are online at

Boy, oh boy - that's a big file. Started downloading it at 8.45am, so should be ready to watch by about lunch-time!!

Rats ... I'd like to download that video too, but with the two tin cans and length of string that passes for a phone connection here in the wilds, it would take till Xmas. How about you stick it on a laptop and bring it along to Cramond next Thursday ... give us all a laugh!
