Trackday insurance

Hi fellers,

I am thinking of doing a Trackday taster event at Silverstone and would like to have some insurance for the day...
So who do use?

It isn't cheap - and there's not a lot to hit at Silverstone - possibly apart from the new pit wall you could start with MORIS Competition Car Insurance REIS I think they all do first party single day cover. Excesses are high (as are the premiums). Some insurers bundle in trackday cover with your main policy I don't bother - I think I would only ever claim for a total loss, which is not very likely, and in any case would probably leave me with a decent pile of bits to flog, and an intact NCB.
 
Who are you insured with? I know Classicline will include club organised days and some other reputable organisers at no extra charge. You just need to inform them in advance and they send you a special track cover note for that day and circuit. Edd
 
Plus, with Classicline, if it's not a "recognised" car club or similar trackday, they will still give you insurance for the day for about £50 - but remember your excess that day is £1k!
