Hello everybody,

I have recently come into my first Porsche, a 1990 944 S2; as you would expect UV and general wear and tear car park scratches have left, for instance, the rear spoiler looking a bit faded and tired, a few scratches around the bodywork here and there, interior fascia and leather ware around the gear stick looking it's age.

Has anybody got any product tips for rejuvenating it a little bit beyond the obvious supermarket/Halfords tyre blackening spray type stuff?

If your paint is non-metallic (like Guards Red or Black), it is likely a single-stage paint. A gentle machine polish with Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound or Menzerna polishes will easily bring back the deep gloss.

Take your time with the restoration, and please share some photos of the car!

Thanks very much for the advice - it's white so almost certainly fits the bill.

It's going in for some more fundamental mechanical work soon so I'll wait for that and get some bonnet up shots as well.

Agree with the above comments on polishing. Mine is a white 1990 car, and the sticker in the boot says the colour is L90E. Alpine White according to all the paperwork, just beware that there was a Grand Prix White so the paint code is the thing.

My car looks several shades of white, and I sometimes wonder.....
