Having checked with Porsche Centres I have found very few available and only two which are tempting although one I saw is in Metallic Violet which I found a bit off putting. The other is in Belfast... but the search goes on, it's a funny thing at these times that I want to sell but to keep hold until I've found the replacement rather like buying and selling a house but then we're talking figures which are higher than my first house purchase!
If it's anything like my gen 2 911, Kevan, which I suspect it is, then go to the menu on the trip computer using the stalk. Scroll down to the "set", select that and then " display". From memory you can then choose the default display in front of you. I think the options are something like radio/range/ nav and so on. If part only or none of this is right then it's my memory playing tricks again... In which case the manual might be your best bet[Buddy said:Just one thing, with the trip computer and the PCM how do I stop it telling me in the trip computer that the navigation isn't set when I'd rather have other info there?
In short I love driving the Gen2 and PDK is terrific but it took me a few empty road miles to get the feel for it.
Like you I wanted the locking diff but it's a rarely taken up option and so with the options on this one I took it as it is which is substantial as it ticked far more boxes than most, traction is better than my Gen1 which was on Bridgestones whereas this is on Michelins, I would say road noise is slightly less but the tyres are the same size so I'll stay with Michelins, more expensive but I have my winter wheels which are Gen2 18" with Michelin Alpins, may as well stick with the brand, anyway got a feeling that the rears may wear out first.

Kevan,
With all the electronic jiggery-pokery to stop the wheels spinning I'm not sure that the locking diff is really necessary, particularly since it's not a very aggresssive device [some owners on P-9 seem to prefer after-market custom locking diffs]. Interestingly, I believe that Lotus aren't in favour of LSDs because they tend to induce understeer.
My Cayman came fitted with P Zeros, and although at 17k miles I'm on my third rear set [it's those track days!], the fronts are original with ~3mm tread depth remaining. The P Zeros are quite grippy - and road noise is reasonable considering the tyre size and profile and the sports suspension set-up - but maybe I'll get to the situation where I need to replace them all at the same time and try a different tyre.
Jeff
Keep that left foot out of the way now !
Can't wait to see your car in the flesh.
I think the Michelin's will be quite durable, I've done 20000+ in them and they were originals when I bought the car nearly 3 years ago.
Probably will have to change next year as I don't want to have a degradation issue.
Their life expectancy should be good now that your commuting days are over (?)
Is there any spaces left on the register stand for my car at Althorp ?
If not I'll find you out on the Sunday.
Enjoy the Summer.
Cheers
Kev
