Tie Rods

I am having some trouble sourcing some tie rods for my 1986 Lux. I've tried Type 911, Porscheshop, GSF, ECP and even the main dealers in Reading but they don't seem to have them available for pre 87 models - anyone ordered some recently? Or know of any other websites/companies I could try?

Cheers, Daniel

Do you know the part number of the ones you are after?
I have a pair with part number 94434703303 that have sat in my shed for the last 3 or 4 years. They were supplied brand new from Porsche Exeter but were the wrong ones for my turbo and I never got round to sending them back for a refund.
I can post a pic if that helps.

Hi I have 2 of these which I got for my square dash car, but in the end I didn't need them.

Like most of the early front suspension they are VW bits - Beetle 1303 in this case.
Give me a call if they are the right ones (no in sig)

I suspect he is asking for the full tie rod as opposed to the tie rod ends, but according to the 944 pre 85 1/2 PET list the tie rod ends are still female fittings as opposed to those male ones you have Mike.

If its the full tie rod you need Daniel that what Steve has is what you need

Paul is correct - the ones I have are the complete rod, as pic below. There is some surface rust, but all the joints move very smoothly, never fitted. £30 for the pair. You are welcome to come and have a look at them - assuming you are in Windsor I am about 20 minutes away!

Just checked my car and it has the male ends.
It is a manual steering car - do the PAS cars have female ends?

First up, apologies for the late reply - busy weekend etc

It is indeed the tie rods I am after rather than the tie rod ends - the problem being that all the usual outlets, ECP, GSF keep sending the longer more recent tie rods.

It is a bit of a strange one as my car is at a mates who is/was doing the work but I am certainly interested in yours Steve - I am in Windsor, the car is currently in Stoke Poges, are you up that way?

Hi Danny. I am indeed - Farnham Royal, about 10 minutes from SP. Am at work at the moment. Give me a call if you like - .
Cheers

Update (at last):

I finally managed to source the correct ones, from Type911.co.uk - they are on now and the car is handling much better, thanks for the help gentlemen

Daniel
