This Rubystone RS seems cheap!

The other dealer seems to have passed it on into the trade. Gmund is not far from me so I might nip down for a ganders, just out of interest!

The same Rubystone car, must have done a lot to it...the Mint Green lightweight in the background is the proprietors own car....make him a bid....

I met a guy at Le Mans who was after a reasonably priced 964RS 'project car' - something to tidy-up and enjoy on the road/track. I sent an email on my return pointing him in the direction of the rubystone car when it was £27k.

I think he was beaten to it... and now we know who by. I wonder what work Gmund have done to it in the past 2 weeks?

(edited to say £27K not 25)

Is 116K really unusual for an RS? I suppose it depends on how many of those we're track miles!

Last owned by Willie Green so presume it's had a hard, hard life.

It was pretty ropey when I went to look at it a few weeks ago. GMund hopefully have tidied it up a fair bit.
When I saw it the clutch was on its last legs, the rear wings had been replaced.
The rear mag wheels had be lost and replaced with standard rims, it had cheap rear tyres, no drivers carpet, wiring hanging into the passenger footwell, surface rust on the underside and on the driver floor inside, markes in the paint work on its roof, the seats had been re-covered and padded far too tight (I sat on them not in them), it had a nasty momo wheel with red boss, etc. etc.

Looks like Gmund have already replaced the wheels and tyres and I'd love to know what else they've done.
If they've set it up right then it would be a good useable car.

Yes, its definitely the same car.

Previously owned by Wille Green but he was not the last owner. Try as I might, I couldn't do a deal with the guys in Windsor, I guess Gmund are more pursuasive than me.

It certainly needs a lot of work. Not only was it very tired but when I drove it, it was very slow (very un-RS like) and pulled to the left all the time but particularly under braking.

Any way, it's still cheap. It was a give away at £27K (I bet Gmund paid even less).

Lets see what it sells for?

That's miles --- it's on 180+K Kilometers. When I saw it on Saturday it looked tired --- but I assume from Gmund that it will be properly prepared for sale.

(Doh --- you snook miles in at the end !)

I emailed Gmund about this car - this is the answer (received last Monday):

[FONT=arial"]We have sourced a full set of mag alloys for the car which are booked in for a refurb and new tyres. There are some paint defects that we are going to have looked at and at the moment we are trying to source a full RS carpets set for the inside and an original RS steering wheel.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"]Considering the mileage the car is as I would expect it, it goes into the workshop this week for a full inspection and review and the work will start there. At first glance on the ramp the engine is very dry with no "˜damp' patches it appears as though the oil pipes on the right hand side of the car will be replaced[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"]There is a substantial history file with the car which the previous owner looks like he has spared no expense on normal servicing and maintenance of the vehicle, also there are a few bills from its time in Germany. He has upgraded the front disc and there is a bolt in half cage to the rear, CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=arial"]The car is showing 194k KM on the clock.[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=arial"]

Sounds pretty reasonable.
