This is the end, beautiful friend - oil checked

Really sorry to hear this Ed [:(] , the only upside is you do have the mechanical knowhow to do most of it yourself and if you do you'll have a fresh engine that should last many more years.

my issue seems to be intermitant problem with oil supply to the head ,the coolant sometimes drops all of a sudden ,and a knock from the bottom end ,Ive got spare cams ,head(although it needs new valve guidess) ,and tappets ,but I may need them myself the local garage had a look at it for me to see what they thought ,they flushed out the oil ,and put new stuff in (the old stuff wasnt exactly old) and said it seems to be running fine now ,I'm very sceptical about this because when it knocked it really was quite a knock lol and all the time the oil pressure was high ,and it was high for them now I'm thinking maybe its that oil cooler, water connection seals ,but I'm gonna goto the garage tomorrow and see what its like ,hey if its now good I'll be over the friggin moon .but I reckon pherhaps that cylinder isnt firing now ,or something simialir because from that knock and problems it cant just fix its self

Not lost interest Simon, just doing other things with 2 wheels instead of 4. We also have a small person arriving in a few weeks so will have even less time than before. I restored this in 6 weeks from the middle of July and then took it to the Classic TT at the end of August for the parade and festival at Jurby. Was good fun to do a lap of the TT course and also a few laps with some of my 2 wheeled heros at Jurby

Little people do have a habit of taking all your time when they first arrive, but you can get some of that time back. It is a shame when something comes to an end bug it isn't the end of the world and we do have to move on at some point. Never selling my 911 though, never[:D]

I actually meant lost interest in 944s Alasdair, rather than cars in general. That Kawasaki appears to be about twenty years newer than Id expect you to be interested in... [:D] Congratulations.

zxr750 thats a fairly old bike ! mid to late 1990's maybe even earlier I was a massive kawasaki nut in my teen and 20's but smaller bikes had a z400j,gpz550 unitrak,gpz305 ,z250,gpx600,zx6 my mates got one

Late eighties more like. It looks like a kitted H1 or H2 to me making it an '89 or '90. The ZXR750J2 from 1992 was my favourite. The J looked like a shell suit, but the blue J2 was beautiful.

you reply'd while I was editing yes the pipes give that away ,that early engine though was str8 out of the gpx750 and wasnt the best the later engine was very good though

It is a Team Green bike, was raced by Ray Swann in 1989 and then John Reynolds raced it in 1990. He won his first Formula 1 race on this bike at Pembrey and was second in the championship that year. He also won the Seniorstock championship that year on his ZZR 600. It has a full factory swingarm and rear shock, kitted engine and kit carbs, all kit electrics, factory disks and magnesium Marvic wheels, factory rear disk, caliper, etc, etc. I also have this to do next, Brian Morrisons 1992 British championship 750K. The bikes are far easier to do and worth much more when done, especially all these old race bikes if you find the right things. Have plenty of my own things I want to do and just didn't have much time when doing the cars. Alasdair

Beautiful friend hello I love you. So the music's over? These are strange days indeed for the riders on the storm, while we are waiting for the sun to light our fire. Is there more than a five to one chance (or one and five?) the damaged motor from your crawling king snake is for sale as my own princess my queen of the highway has lost her big beat and been down so very damn long waiting for the warden to break his lock and key and set us free that I fear we may never again linger long on love street and take a moonlight drive in the crystal ship to see the city at night and get together baby one more time?
