Wonder if it would have steered even better on standard wheels. And if he bought it?
 
I guess it would have been better on standard wheels, I haven't checked the rest of his channel yet could be a surprise if he did indeed buy the car, not a fan of the body modifications though...

Although I do like how the Momo Prototipo steering wheel looks, around £250 for a standard one, £350 for Black Edition and around £450 for the Porsche branded one!
 
I've thought that stamped in bonnet vents would be a good idea, but I'd bin the bonnet with those nasty stick on vents. The wheels should be a dark colour too. The 968 cup steering wheel is the only upgrade I like. I would like a set of 968 mirrors though.

I watched a video about the 968 Turbo RS, and that Porsche fitted the bonnet scoops due to the higher engine bay temperatures when running the K27 turbo. So, they are probably a good thing for a modified 944 Turbo as well.
 
I thought the bonnet vents on the 968 RS were for the intercooler cooling. And for the air filter intake? Anyway the Sierra and Escort Cosworths had them and so did the Lotus Carlton, so they must work.
 
I'm not a fan of the bonnet vents and not so convinced that they made any difference to cooling. The 968 turbo had just over 300bhp, have any of you guys with more than that noticed an increase in engine temp? I certainly haven't and have been running for years with much more power than the 968 turbo?

All the Ford Cosworths had them Pete.

It is, but on some 968 turbo's there's a big vent near the front of the bonnet, and afaik the intercooler vents into that.

Yes, that big exit scoop behind the intercooler on the RS is crazy, looking at pictures looks like it was only on the RS and the S just had the Naca ducts (one on the right feeds the air filter box and has a channel fixed to the underside of the bonnet).

I found a place that makes a replicate 968 Turbo RS bonnet, expensive though, around 2k euros, would be awesome to build a replica...


They include all the correct channeling on the underside to feed the air filter box.

Cheaper option with just the ducts available from this company in the UK (Naca ducts and the big scoop for the intercooler exit).

 
Years ago when tired leggy 968's dropped as low as £4-5k I looked for one to buy, and convert to a turbo. Trouble was they would break for more money, and dismantlers had always trailered them away before I got to see them. Those cars are all 10-15 years older and even more tired now, and seem to start around £12-15k. And probably need £10-15k spending for a turbo conversion and renovation.
 
I liked his presentation mostly.Young and enthusiastic!!!
I wish he would have taken down the air freshener it swinging around drove me nuts.
On a video where he is so focused on steering feel purity he has the wrong wheels although they do look great, i want to try that one day.
The vents might be needed on a track/race car raced in high temps,my race car only got hot once in Spa in the mid to late 30s.
On a road car no real need ,good luck to the guy he is keen and very young you can tell.
i like the Porsche classic proto wheel not sure it goes in a 944 interior,if i was ripping out the Lozenge -968 CS works for me.
 
Yes CS wheel for me too. Was lucky enough to acquire a burgundy one to match my interior for not much money a good few years ago.



I do have an absolute mint set of door cards tucked away. One day I will get round to fitting them and return the speaker situation to stock.
 
I've got the older "Club Sport" steering wheel in mine with the enamelled Porsche Crest, I do like the newer one with the embossed logo.
