Hi all looking into buying a cayenne. But?

I have an old range rover at the moment but want to change after 8 years of great ownership.

My biggest question is,

Does the cayenne have a down hill low crawler gear that works, like on my current range rover. I need this as the road is single track 7'6" wide, and is a very big hill, 60m long with dog legs, stone walls either side and in winter turns to solid ice (at least 1-2" thick) due to our 4x4 rangine compacting snow and turning into ice. this lasts for weeks as no gritter can get down.

We need to get up this hill also every day even in snow is it up to the job with the right tyres

like i say the range rover does this no problems even with bald 2-3mm tread on all season tyres.

thanks
marc.

The Cayene will descend any hill. When I did a Factory collection from Leipzig we were taken on the Porsche off Road test track and some of the ascents and descents were awsome on slippery mud and the electronics sorted it all out.

To cope with sheet ice and hills ( up or down) will require winter tyres.

To cope with thick mud will require all terrain tyres.

I would say that anything a Range Rover can cope with, the Cayenne can cope with, if not better.

I agree with everything said by the previous reply from Tony M. Ask an OPC to give you a demonstration/test drive.

Winter tyres last year made a huge difference with my 58 GTS.
