There is life after PF97 pads...

We've talked about the mess these pads make often enough. My new front wheels were in quite a state after Spa and Donington so I decided to try the wheel cleaner from Bilt Hamber. I'm very impressed.

Before - all the brake dust is fused to the & wheel very hard to remove.

During - this is the first coat. The liquid sprays on clear & goes this deep red colour as it contacts the metal particles.

And after 3 soakings

not perfect, but much better. For anything other than PF97 brake dust I think it would make cleaning a very easy job.

Looks good gear Edd, I always use Zymol and always been happy, although not with the price! Did you buy direct and if you don't mind what is the cost?

I think you can only buy direct.

approx £15 posted (but I have used quite a lot in this first go - on the 944, boxster and bmw.

Cheers Ed, when I have finished this lot of Zymol I am going to give that a go, seems a lot more people starting use Bilt

Paint the wheels anthracite

I found that PF97 residue wasnt so bad to remove unless water got on the wheels, this seemed to make it harder to get off but there was always some burnt into the lacquer however I had a sacrificial set of D90`s to save my Cup 1`s

Fantastic pads though arent they [8D] .......................

That wheel cleaner looks Aswome!!!!![8D]
My favourite pad is Pagid yellow RS29s,great from cold last ages, and stop you later and harder.

I think his co-driver got a bit too carried away with the emotion of Spa :)

Iron-X does exactly the same thing and may be cheaper/more widely available.

Spa is brilliant - going back in oct [:D] Maybe I'll have a different co-driver....

I have even more respect for f1 drivers now after going there.

The pf97s are a bargain for the s2 calipers - around £100 per axle so roughly half the price of the pagids.

They are well over £200 for the m030 calipers.

Cheers for that Ed. I bought 1ltr of Auto-Wheel direct from Bilt Hamber for £15.90 and I'm really impressed with the stuff - one application (with plenty of agitation) has shifted pretty much all the filth from the inside of my wheel. I'm just about to go back outside and do a second application.
