Well having ordered a pair of used 993 mirrors from a reputable (or perhaps not) supplier (obviously I can't mention the name), it turns out that these might be stolen. I cant believe I am trying to replace my stolen mirrors with some 'hot gear'
Well what to do now? I guess some of you may be saying I should have bought direct from Porsche to avoid fuelling this black market, however, at a cost of £550 (not painted) for a pair of mirrors, who can blame me. Its a shame those clever people from Stuttgart can't re-think their pricing strategy to help deter toe rags from stealing bits off our cars but then why would they cut profits eh!
I would be extremely interested to know which part suppliers other than Porsche direct you have experience with, good or bad and what views you have on companies that supply cheaper parts than Porsche directly?
Oh and the obvious question - return the goods and demand a refund and/or report to the police?? Obviously I have to prove they are stolen!!
