Hey thanks ..... it would appear I'm not alone in my not so positive thoughts on this new look!tscaptain said:

All the information that was on the right of the headings is now bunched up on the left making it more cluttered and difficult to read.
As for the fact that 700 users have logged on as a justification that all is well with the world spurious in the extreme.
There's a saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it. But then these loveys have to justify their £800/d charges somehow.

Hi David,
As has been repeatedly repeated [&:], the old version of this forum WAS broken, so had to be fixed somehow. Doing nothing was not an option.
Other platforms were explored, but an update of the exisiting was unanimously voted the only viable option: remember that the Registers have a wealth of technical info and images that we can't afford to lose, nor archive on a different platform.
Your first point is very valid. Traffic is no indicator of anything! If you strip out the comic threads like Mallet's Mallet, and the threads about the new forum, I'd bet any money that useful posts and replies on the regions and registers are down significantly. What it needs is the ROs and RSs to lead from the front and create activity IMO, but that's hard as some aren't even registered on the forum, let alone regular posters like you.

Not much UX or UI thought when it comes to font and typeface use or placement - looks like it might have been designed for 7-years old's. I run large scale mobile and digital programs for tier 1 organisations for a living and this is not what I would have expected. Looks like something quickly implemented out of a CMS forum platform box. David, £800/day in London buys you the basic agency designer/dev guys. Don't start me on how much I'm charged for design managers..!

Marcus, it's a shame more people with your skills and experience weren't on the team of volunteers! There certainly wasn't a team of £800 per day people sitting working on the forum. [&o]
It's a simple update from the previous one, although I do feel it's a bit like Windows 8 to use when we were used to Windows 95.
Any specific things you think could/should be changed, just contact the team on support@porscheclubgb.com. It's an on-going project and the feedback is essential! [

Hi Paul, the title of the discourse is Forum Layout.
We all agree that the software driving it was clunky, some functions didn't work, limitations on file sizes and in need of an upgrade.
However the lay out was OK.
Now there is loads on information on the left side of the panel that clutter up the visual appeal of the forum. See the example below which I've put a dashed line through the parts that IMHO clutter up the forum. All that information used to be on the right hand side of the page.
Also I just tried to insert a picture but that function is not working at the moment, I have to use a URL.

I guess Althorp took over a lot of the volunteer's time, but this is still being worked on so far as I know. Get those suggestions and feedback to them, everyone. [

I totally agree. Even the normally active 964RS Forum is almost dead. There may be more reasons, but the new layout for sure doesn´t help. Leading from the front is difficult for anyone, RS or regular poster. Being a forum regular for years now, it looks to me, as if new posts are not "found" or it´s too uncomfortable to answer?
Also, being a foreigner myself, I can assure you that the forum is a real treasure - unfortunately in trouble at the moment. Where has all the useful traffic gone?

It's August - we're all away on vacation with kids or too busy putting the miles on the 911 in the sun...!
Where is the button/link to send a private message, in fact, where do messages/inbox/sent messages live now?
Please
In the mean time I've worked out how to send a private message by allowing the cursor to hover over the persons profile name. However stil not worked out where the inbox and previously sent messages are?
Dekker said:Hi Paul,
I found it after sending you a PM.
At the top of the page, click Forum and the last option in the drop down list, MY FORUM SETTINGS and a sub page called User Control Panel and it's the 3rd option. Talk about buried away.
Hi David,
Got there in the end albiet long winded. Nice one

It's quite normal for an old thread to become dead Colin. With nearly 400 views, nobody else has felt the need to post anything to broaden the conversation.colin129 said:This sub-Forum has always been pretty quiet, but it's absolutely dead these days.
