Just seen this news, that the 924/944/968/911/928 designer has passed away:

He left quite a legacy RIP Tony

Very nice article ,we owe him many thanks ,the porsche world wouldn't have been the same without him.
One thing that puzzles me though is that in many other articles is says that Lagaay was the 924's designer.

I thought that it was Harm Lagaay too, who is now the head of Porsches design department. Tony Lapines name rings a bell though and Im sorry to see that he has passed away.

Perhaps Lagaay penned the car when Lapine was head of design and signed it off. One drawing and the other responsible for?

This month's Panorama magazine (the monthly publication of PCA North America) has an extensive article on the 924/944/968 development and evolution. According to this article, the design is credited to Lagaay who sketched the car in between his regular assignments. Lapine included his drawings along with the regular design studies when submitting to VW for approval. VW selected Lagaay's design and it went from there.
Yes, Lapine was Lagaay's boss. Apparently after the 924 hit production, Lagaay left Porsche for Ford Cologne and then BMW returning to be responsible for the development of the 993 thru to the 997.
