Does anyone know why some Boxsters do not have the Boxster name logo on the rear boot, but rather have a plain lid? I noticed this on a early model- is this an import or what?
Just curious

Curious T ... It's personal choice. The Boxster Badge gets nice and dirty in no time and also some prefer the plain look. I have had all my Boxsters de-badged and the first example back in early 1997 use to have people behind arguing what the car in front was [
Amusing at the time as the Boxster was a rare old site back then .....
Or,
You can do as I did, and order with the badge, then remove it by sawing with dental floss through the double-sided tape holding that holds it on.
A quick polish to remove any trace of adhesive - and voila!
One clean and tidy badge-free rear end, which is easier to clean and dry (no snagging the badge with the drying cloth).
And you get a free souvenir!

You both beat me too it whilst I was typing![

I also believe that Rob has a hot water solution for removal or am I imagining it[][&:]

Nope you are not imagining it ... Boil a kettle of water and pour it over badge the glue melts instantly and the badge lifts off dead easy [8D][
