The "Brighton 2013" Thread.

Hi all, right, the meet at Clacketts Lane Services on the Sunday morning of 9th Joon still stands. However, for anyone who may find this better than crawling through the "Average Speed Trap" on the M25, might like to think about meeting at Pease Pottage Services on the M23 (just after Gatwick) on the way to Brighton. This is where I will be lurking [;)]. Also, at this point may I ask for a quick show of hands as to who's coming. This is so we have plenty of grub for everyone at Brian's Café [8D]. Cheers all [:D].

Pete - what news from the Nurburgring? New suspension all okay? Shame you missed the 944 track day at Bedford. Catch up by watching it here: http://youtu.be/ooqBvjq35nw

Ewan, as for the Nurburgring 24hr race, shall we just say it was rather wet. In fact, it was so wet that in places, the track was totally flooded and cars were "falling off" all over the place. The night racing on the Sunday was called off for 9 hours, starting again at 07:00 hrs on the Monday morning and, shortening the 24 hr race to 15 hrs!![]. However, the racing was mental (as usual) and, the Classic Race was an epic with some 20 or so transaxle Porsches competing, mainly 944 Turbo's [8D]. We had a fantastic time, ate lots of good food and, got totally slaughtered [;)]. Jon Mitchell couldn't believe how insane it all was and we are all defo' going again next year! My car now "handles like a Go-Cart" and we had a fantastic blast both there and back [8D] but, that's another story and I will start another thread on what's been done and, indeed, what's being done, as soon as I get a bit more time over the next few days. Back on topic, can I please have a show of hands as to how many of you are coming to the Brighton Meet on the 9th of Joon? Cheers all. Pete.

I will probably be up for it, will probably still be on crutches and may be getting one of the lads to drive me up

Excellent! That's a nice little gathering to begin with [:)]. Thanks for the tabulations Andy [:D]. Jon, I really hope that you can make it mate (I have sent you a e-mail). The Pigs are being slaughtered for the bacon and the sausage butties and, Brian is force feeding the Hens to make them lay bigger eggs [;)]. The commemorative plaques are being made as we speak and, they will look quite something. God has been instructed to make the Sun shine. everything is Good. [:D]
