Ok chaps, looks like i'm back in the 944 ranks once again, courtesy of Mr Mitchell (that's if he is not just winding me up and really intends to set my car on fire when he see's me step off the train [:(][:D])!! In light of this happy occasion, i have decided to try and add another 944 meet to our calendar starting this summer 2013. Depending on how it goes, i would like to make this an annual meet up. Our first little trial meet happened with a certain degree of success and, i feel, would probably have been a whole lot better if it wasn't hammering down with rain all day []!! Anyway, i would like to give this another try for summer 2013. For this to happen successfully i need a tiny bit of help from you chaps as to which part of summer, early, mid or late and, which day, Saturday or Sunday. I would like to know which dates to avoid (other Porsche gatherings etc), also Madeira Drive (sorry Glenn) get's officially booked up most weekends during the summer with only a few vacancies. Of course i will find out when MD is not booked up and let you all know. I am not known as the World's best organiser and so ask you to bear with me if i start to fcuk up. However, the plan would be something like, meet at Clacketts Lane on the M25 (or someplace like), Cruise/Hammer down to Brighton,Madeira Drive, park up, chat, take piccy's, Stuff our faces at my mate Brian's outdoor cafe (on the house of course), admire scantilly clad ladies wiggling along the prom', take more piccy's [;)] etc, etc. You get the idea?! This could also be a late afternoon/evening hoon with burgers at Brian's cafe and a beer. Whatever takes your fancy?!! So, there you have it folks. What say you?
Kind regards.
Pete.

Looks like it is in the right place now. Just a thought, especially with your mates cafe booking up in the summer months, how about this for an idea... During the summer months Goodwood have the Breakfast Club on sunday mornings, normally from about 8:30am through to late morning. Why not all meet up there... They might have a German themed one where we can all park on the pit lane. Then about 11am, meet up around there somewhere and go onto your mates cafe for lunch and the afternoon? I will be up for it and the matches are safely tucked away! lol

I'm up for it assuming the car is not having a bad hair day ! Sunday's are impossible, but I can usually juggle a Saturday.... would be nice to meet some of the locals finally [:)]

I've checked my calendar and I have two "free" weekends between 10th March and 4th November so we might get lucky on dates [:D] Assuming we do, I could be persuaded.

That's a very good idea Jon for a meeting place. If everyone else agree's i reckon we should sort a date out. I will give Goodwood Circuit a bell and get some info. Failing that, a "balls out" hammer down the M23 always get's the pulse racing![;)]! Especially as you have to keep an eye out for unmarked Plod Scooby's and Evo's []. Still good fun though! I will do some homework and put up some dates this week. Cheers all.[:D]

Sounds good. At this remove all dates are open, but name some soon so they can be put in the diary and not double-booked. Oli.

Should we run a book on how many pages this thread will run before a date is secured? I seem to remember it was several last time. Unfortunatly I wont be able to attend as I live in Scotland and only venture South 3 or 4 times a year for events. Sounds like it will be good though. Alan.

Yep, I'll certainly try and make it depending on the date. Glad you're sticking with the 944 crowd Pete I had visions of you signing up to another forum as Ex944 [:D]

Are we all happy with that salty air on our classic cars? I love Brighton so would be up for either a Saturday or Sunday meet.

Alan (loc 944), It is always nice to get a bit of help/input regarding the dates. What's the point of me saying "such and such" a date and no one can make it? I'll try to keep it as brief as possible. You're in Glasgow anyway so you wont turn up [:D]! Ok, i have been on the blower to Goodwood Circuit regarding Jon Mitchell's suggested Breakfast meet. They inform me that they have" Breakfast Club" meets from 08:00 hours on the first Sunday of most months but the one that would most probably suit us would be the "Supercar" day on the first Sunday in June (there is also a "Thoroughbreds" day first Sunday in August). Failing that it's Clacketts Lane on a Saturday and a Hammer down to Brighton! Just a bit more feed back from you lot would'nt go amiss and I WILL make a date decision and meet up venue by the weekend [8D]. The free scoff at Brian's is still there as a carrot, no worries! This could be a good summer meet or you can always tell me to "Go forth and multiply"!![:D]. Sorry Jon, there are no planned German themed days this year at Goodwood but, we're off to the Nurburgring 24hr rennen in May so that don't matter [8D]!!

First weekend in June is the Autosport 3hr race meeting at Snetterton. That's a two day meeting and I could do one day there and one day in Brighton. First weekend in August is not possible for me due to work commitments.

1st weekend in June is good for me, personally I would rather have the Brighton meet as a dedicated "do" which would Hopefuly become an annual event and make a trip to Goodwood breakfast as another outing. Just my opinion but will go with what ever is decided, waiting to confirm my Calendar.........[:)]
