The 992 carrera 2s lack lustre sports exhaust system.

Are you sure you guys have the same car as me.....or perhaps it sounds better in a cab!! I just got over 5K miles. In sports mode, it makes a right noise. It backfires and pops....etc. !

Comment Virgin here, but here is the first. I drove the S2 992 two weeks ago, the sports exhaust did not appear to make huge difference. However, my neighbour asked what I had been driving as she could hear it from her house and recognised the difference to my normal 718.

I ordered the basic 992 Carrera for delivery in September and I have included the Sport Exhaust as an option. It also alters the look of the back of the car. My quandary is whether to include Chrono?

I've got a 4S Cab with the sports exhaust and I can really tell the difference when it is engaged. When the car is first started it is fairly muted but after a minute or so it settles down into a much deeper tone. Again, when the Sports Exhaust is switched off the tone definitely becomes more muted. Also, there is a lot more fizzing and crackling etc when I lift off the accelerator at low speeds. It's one of the options I'm glad I chose - unlike keyless entry.

With regards to Sports Chrono, I included it and the dial on the steering wheel is useful and the launch control is fun but I don't at this point take the car to tracks so haven't really used it for its primary purpose. I think its an option future buyers could look for though.

We installed this sports exhaust on our 991 ts as soon as we took delivery new. No issues with warranty or extended warranty claims inc a turbo and various other things circa 15k of warranty claims. Car is 2018 and most of the claims in last 2 years. Transformational sound wise our car sounds like a Porsche now.

Exactly the same with C2S. Its loud enough for me that for sure. But if I was 40 years younger it would be enough.

I have a C2, with Sports exhaust and Sport Chrono and would definitely recommend the Chrono.

As for the note, appreciate it isn’t as loud as 911s of old or other sports cars inside but I like the noise myself. Actually get a lot of people (when outside the car) commenting about how good it sounds when sports exhaust is activated ????
