The 2012 Porsche Club Championship

Both arms ok?

Not perfect but good enough - painkillers and determination will see me through. I've recently realised that the number of laps I've done in the car is still in single figures though. Testing on the Friday, hope to get on the pace then.

Yeah I was advised by a fellow racer to give her a good spanking [:D]

...unfortunately I took the advice a little too literally [&o].

Neil, has Kev fixed it in time for Oulton?
Mine has just gone back together, did a couple of sessions yesterday afternoon at BH Indy,to feel it out after a couple of changes we have made in addition to the repairs.
Hope I get a race this time[:D]

No chance unfortunately, maybe get her on track again the week or two after. Bigger problem is wallet damage thanks to the crash and the tax man has put me out till the run in Oulton-Combe-Silverstone. Still though it gives me the chance to get some track time in the car away from anything competitive.

Oh and you were right about the power steering btw! I just physically couldn't drive the car with no PAS and tight LSD in the dry.

Sorry about that....
I had a biggish bill aswell i sympathise..
I love power steering, feel is all very well but I feel I benefit from quicker corrective and more delicate inputs.
I love assistance!Ditched the paddle clutch aswell.

Its the delicate inputs bit that is the issue for me. In the dry it was taking all my strength just to hold on to it in the corners, for sure the feedback from the front tyres scrubbing is great but not much use if I can't push over that loading (slip angle) or make quick adjustments that involve pushing back into that load again. I know the PAS takes that tyre scrabbling feel away but I didn't miss it when I didn't have it if that makes sense.

I have been thinking about the crash a lot unsurprisingly. I didn't put much more than about half turn lock in to catch the slide, can't help feeling that if I could have whacked it right round I just might have got the car back before running out of tarmac. No way I could do that though without PAS. I reckon I must have also had a bit of steering angle on as well. Even though it seems and feels like a straight run to Surtees, been driving it in both rFactor and iRacing and in any car I always have a small amount of steering angle when going through that dog leg bit on the Cooper straight.

Anybody coming this weekend??Should be some good spectating, great grass to watch from and tons of ice cream vans![:)]
