Tesco 99 RON

I posted in another thread that Morrisons have dropped the British Standard mark from their fuels due to increasig the bio-ethanol levels.

Sorry didn't read all the other posts so may be repeated but was only speaking to an Audi Guru about this the other day. Cheaper high octane fuels 'aparently' do use methanol to up the octane figures which is bad for rubber seals around the injectors and for some reason he didn't explain and I didn't understand, not good for the injectors either.

I don't know for sure but as the 944's silicone coated bores are more susceptible to chemical damage than steel bores I'd be weary of that too.

The good news is that BP and Shell do not use these methods in their higher octane fuels and these fuels are aparently a much higher grade.. so I only use Shell now:)

Regards,

Ben (soon to be a 944 owner again)

Greenergy 99RON isnt the only fuel to have ten percent bioethanol in it now, thanks to Flash Gordon: everything does (but 10% isnt enough to damage good condition fuel pipes and seals).
