Targa sunblind replacement

Does anyone have knowledge/experience of replacing the interior roof sunblind on the 996 Targa. The plastic end of the blinds leading edge that fixes it into the running rail has sheared off. Can get a replacement blind/shade from my local OPC with a discount but does anyone know if it is feasible to DIYfit. The blind mechanism appears still all ok..must be plastic fatigue that has resulted in the important bit of plastic shearing off. Any help/ advice appreciated

Thank you very much for your help. I have emailed you separately to see if you have a couple of other bits of info on the blind strut brace & removing the blind cover. Will let you know how I get on.
