Swapping out OEM headunit for a new one

Hi Folks,
Apologies if there is already a thread out on this.

I am going to change the current becker to a 2 Din Pioneer unit. Incartec and connects2 have a faschia for only models without the cup holder.

Has anyone else had the same problem and if so how was it resolved?

Also, where does one put the mic for handsfree on a convertible? The usual place near rear view mirror would be as much as use as a wet paper bag.
