The cheapest I can find GAZ Gold is £840, GAZ Gha are listed for 924 but not 944 for £492. The SpaxRSX are £535 inc VAT and postage. Just need to hear a few revues on them before I decide. Alan.
 
If you speak to GAZ directly then youll get very different pricing. I cant remember the fellows name off the top of my head (David Something, I think...), but you will find the prices extremely keen and his technical knowledge reassuring. As with most application lists for these cars; theres much confusion (in fact, in all adverts Ive seen the Spax kit is listed as suitable for 944s to MY84 only). GAZ can supply basic, adjustable and remote reservoir kit for 931, 944s1 early and 944s1 late, both pre and post '87 series two cars, 944Turbo/944S2 and 968. If I can find the mans name I will let you know. Simon
 
My son just bought these. Finnish importer for GAZ happens to be here in my small home town. Son got these with the spring rates we wished. Total cost was 1100€.

Last night I fitted a set of Gaz height adjustable coilovers to the rear of mine. Three weeks lead time. £264 delivered. Quality looks very good, no problem fitting, even for me (apart from usual cuts and bruises!) and have improved the ride dramatically although it could probably do with softening a bit and a tinker to get the height right which will be an ongoing thing as everything settles down. ETA: Mine was already re-indexed at the rear.

Thats the fellow. I had written down Dave Lyman, but I wasnt confident that Id heard his surname clearly. That was my opinion of him from the couple of conversations Ive had with him: would you agree?
 
Just checked out Spax RSX kits, apparently there are 2 versions RSX104 front coilovers and rear shocks, RSX118 4 coilovers. Who has these fitted and which version? Are the Gaz GHA coilovers available for 944 as I can only find them listed for 924 and if so does anyone have them fitted? Thanks, Alan.
 
Finally decided just to replace front Struts with oe Sachs and fit -30 springs, then adjust rear height on eccentric adjustment if required. I also have poly bushes to fit on front arm and castor mounts. Any tips on what i can spray on to free off seized bolts prior to starting this work? Thanks, Alan.

Plus Gas or make your own from paraffin and diesel Brilliant stuff, badly corroded nuts etc soak a few times over a few days and if stubborn a bit of heat always helps

Plusgas is the muts nutts. They sell it in Camberleyautofactors which helps if not going mail order. Wurth Rost-Off is also brilliant but more for cleaning up surface corrosion.
 
Al I have just removed the whols front end of my car.Engine crossmember struts bottom arms radiator etc.I can tell you that alot of the nits and bolts put up a serious fight.Big long bar heat wd40 and a set of wall drive sockets will help. Also not trying to teach you how to suck eggs but remember constant pressure on a bolt and don't jerk at it or it will sheer or round.
 
Some cars seen to be easy and others hard. My '83 - everything was like a 3 year old car, my '89 - everything like a 30 year old!
 
I also have a couple of these, very rarely used except when its a captive (hidden) bolt and the risk of snapping it means cutting open bodywork. Generally Plus Gas and heat work every time
