Suspension System Fault

Hi all

Haven’t seen this issue posted about but recently had issues with an intermittent suspension system fault coming on at start-up. This is on a Nov 24 Cayman GTS 4.

I have been working away from home for a couple of weeks in Edinburgh so popped into the Porsche dealership there. They were great, got the car in for a look, established that it was a sensor issue and all sorted under warranty - all whilst I waited with a few cups of tea and a desk to do some work.

Anyway, thought I’d share the issue and resolution.

Hi Richie,

Would you care to elaborate on what message you received for your fault and what sensor was identified … PASM and a dodgy accelerometer maybe?

Jeff

Hi Jeff

Yellow warning message on dash ‘Suspension System Fault’. Offside front and in my non technical understanding was body sensor which I assumed to mean it’s picked up relationship between body and chassis.

It’s intermittent and they couldn’t replicate the fault in the workshop but could see through the fault codes in the log.

Thanks Richie,

It sounds as though one of the body-mounted acceleration sensors developed a fault and became intermittent.

Anyway, good to hear that the problem was sorted quickly and efficiently by the Edinburg dealership.

Jeff
