Hi Gavin
I have now looked and felt for vacuum pipes under the TB and cannot find any loose pipes.

Are people serious about removing and replacing the ICV on the 944s without removing the inlet manifold and the reconnecting the vacuum pipes?????

I havent tried removing it with manifold on so cant comment, I have heard of someone spaying some carb cleaner in the valve while engine running by loosening one of the pipes, that fixed it for them. You should be able to hear it open and closing constantly while car is idling, I used a long screw drive and held it against the valve body and my ear to the handle of the screw driver works like a charm.

Hi Rob,

This is my car that I started restoring the mechanicals on(brakes, engine, suspension). I got Elliot involved as i was out of my depth with rusted sills/interior and other mechanical work, Elliot's contact did the respray for me. They have have done a super job cant wait to drive it.

Hi Gavin
your picture shows a vacuum pipe going into vacuum valve and the a short pipe to a electrical unit with a two pin connector ( brown leads) and then a pipe going to the inlet manifold, its the electric unit that is baffling me

Yes it looks a lot better now than when I saw it outside the paint shop [;)]

Yes, I have the little electric valve now, Elliot sorted me one out friday, and now its back to being original.
But I still have cold start idling problem, so my next step is to remove the inlet manifold and check idle control valve and vacuum pipes.
