hi
i have a 86 early type sunroof, i took the sunroof out as was not working
checked the switch between the sun visors and adjusted that so with the sun roof not in place the arms go up and down, but when i put the sunroof in place it seems like it does not have enough power ? to lift it up
if i push the sunroof whilst holding the button it will raise
cheers
Dave

Have a look at the motor end and make sure everything is attached there - it's hidden behind the carpet in the rear nearside wing.

There is a really good (and long) guide to setting up the sunroof on Clarks Garage at at http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/body-03.htm I would imagine in your case the clutch is so far out of adjustment it just slips when the weight of the sunroof is resting on the arms.

thanks for the link. i have read think i get it ! i have adjusted some slack up via the motor for the cables and that with adjusting the slip clutch has got the sunroof going up and down although i have to push it home fully, i suspect the seal in past its sell by date. i think i still need to do some adjusting as the motor will keep wurring away if the button is held down for too long. at least i am moving in the right direction Dave
