Sunroof woes

Anyone help me out here. Took the car out of hibernation last week & upon turning the ignition key the sunroof raises but refuses to lower again. I switched off the ignition & lowered the roof with a spanner on the motor in the side of the boot. Roof lifted again when I switched on the ignition so it's not a "flat spot" in the motor preventing closure. I currently have pulled the plug from the motor to keep it closed. [&:]
 
the micro switches caused me no end of problems with my roof, it is these little things failing that cause the cogs to strip.
might be worth checking them.

Seems to me the cogs are ok as it rises on its own (ohh err misses) & that the problem lies somewhere in the wiring.
 
Still got problems with the roof on my 220, it does not help being a bastardised version, being mid facelift with old style mechanical system and some of the electrical system being half and half.....................AARGHH!
