sunroof seal

Hi Walt - I saw your posting on the Club Forum about fitting a new sunroof seal. Now most of this you will probably know but... there are two seals on the roof. One which attaches to the sunroof aperture at the front which is, I am told easy to fit. The other is the problem as it fits to the rear edge of the sunroof itself. To fit this one, you have to remove the inner headlining etc to expose the innards. Thankfully on mine, that one is in place... I didn't fancy that whole process.
The two seals cost me around £45 earlier this month (January 2006) from Porscheshop. I don't know the cost of these items from Porsche GB.
I'm presently (well, my son is) removing the old adhesive from the sunroof aperture. I was told that a good solvent was (believe it or not) WD40 ! Yes, WD40. It is however fairly laborious as it has to soak in and then remove. We keep telling ourselves it'll be worth it. Certainly less harsh than the blowtorch method
