Sun visor clips

This is an odd one.

I've not used the car all weekend, just got in it to move it and noticed both sun visors hanging down! On closer inspection both clips have snapped, now what's the chance of that?

So had a prod and noticed that in the past both clips had been glued back together, with the warm weather over the past few days the glue has melted.

For the price of the clips, who glues them back together?

Anyway are these the same as mk1 golf clips? Or has anyone got any spare black ones hanging about?

Apparently broken 944 clips are common (although mine never have).

You can replace the with golf mk4 clips as seen here

Part numbers for the black VW ones
3B0 857 561 BB41 - clip
3B0 857 563 BB41 - screw cover

Got mine from OPC last year, from memory they were the cheapest. Only one broke but bought a pair. However, they are sooo tight that you can't get the visor out the clip easily whilst driving to put at the side window. So, good old clip is on drivers side and other new clip is in drawer waiting to replace the other old one when it breaks!!

Golf3, I believe. Perhaps G3 & G4 were the same?

Definitely mk4, although I'm not saying the mk3 doesn't fit. Here they are in beige http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Bora-MK4-Golf-Leon-GTI-R32-Touran-Sun-Visor-Clip-Tdi-GT-Audi-A3-/140743180802?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20c4f28202

(The part numbers I posted were for the black ones)

Another option is these made from stainless steel.
Supplied in black and silver at $28 by a guy on rennlist called joe jackson

I said earlier that MK3 parts will do. They won't. Just tested it.

Edit:

Just drove my wife's 2011 Skoda Octavia. Looks like Golf IV style clips are a proven concept

Im surprised to hear this, as Id proposed them too. I believe that Id read that that they were direct replacements on an alternative parts fitment list, rather than having had direct experience.

Maybe the mk3 clips fit the earlier cars/924 as there are two different types of clips for the 944 I believe.
