We returned yesterday after a Porsche Club Factory trip, visiting Stuttgart and Leipzig with an interesting selection of places along the way.
Great people, great driving and excellent catering.
We visited Colditz, saw the sights of Berlin, the Mohne Dam and stayed in a Michelin Star hotel in Maastricht but the highlight of the week was the Leipzig factory visit where we were let loose on their amazing test track. What I imagined to be a parade around the circuit turned out to be a high speed chase keeping up with the pace car. Driving a Cayman T, 992 S Coupe and a 991 GTS Cabriolet we were all determined not to let the instructor gain any distance. We were lucky to drive the 992 S closely behind the 991.2 GTS pace car and it certainly is an impressive machine. Finally driving the 991.2 GTS Cab highlighted the improvements of the 992 with the general consensus being these cars just get better and better.
These trips need to be done so many thanks to Richard Watling for his knowledge and enthusiasm in making it such a memorable adventure. A must for all Porsche members - an experience like no other.
