Ive started the job at the back ,how is the Carrera badge held on to the outside of the engine cover
Lots of WD40 sprayed and 10s of plastic boxes at the ready Any past problems on your cars that you encompassed and overcome
would be appreciated.

The badge is just stuck on, I'd suggest carefully working a Stanley knife blade under it.
Is this a full resto or just some paintwork?
 
Correct procedure is to soften the self adhesive behind the lettering with a hairdryer or 'sticky stuff' remover, then 'garrotte' the lettering with nylon fishing line.

No damage to paintwork or lettering.
 
Carrera badge removed cheers people,What have I started,she looks very sorry for her self no eyes bits missing very forlorn.
The only problem is the stupid spire nuts holding the ensign on the bonnet[so far] lost

Found first corrosion,in the front bumper just a few bubbles on the under side.
Pretty good so far,next scary job removing sideseals.

Is it safer to remove the front and rear windscreen glass while still on 4 wheels or while she is
on axle stands

Well the front bumper is off but not quite as the book says.
The 6mm nylocks holding the 1/4 rubbers were round,so had to undo the 4 screws holding the
wing infill and prise the bellows out,damn difficult.

From experience, removing the glass is easy but get someone to help you lift it from the car. Carefully remove the insert then run a Stanley blade between the edge of the glass and the seal, apply a little pressure from inside and the glass will pop straight out. different story replacing the glass, a mystic art in itself. Good luck.

Those bellows units might need replacing. Fixings easy to break![:(]

I would do it whilst still on its wheels. You may need to get inside and use your feet to push it out and much safer on wheels than the potential to rock it off the axle stands.
