Storm Damage?

Guest

New member
Good afternoon everyone from a new member up in Sunny? Inverness
I'm sorry to have to make my first post a plea for help- but here goes.
6 months ownership of a 993 C4 (Town + County Aberdeen) has been great until last night- when I returned from an interesting trip up to Wick post storm. Unfortunately I appear to have been a casualty of the debris lying on the road and now have lost paint from the outer edge of my front wheel arches. Can anyone suggest somewhere local to Inverness that I can have this attended to? The car is going for a service at the main dealers at the end of the month, but I dont fancy leaving it down in Aberdeen for a few days to get this done as well , unless there are no local alternatives.
While I'm here- are there any other members in this neck of the woods?

Thanks for your help

Bummer, but in the light of some of the damage done, maybe you got off lightly.

Sorry I don't know enough about Inverness to know who to recommend, but someone must. Why not ask a few of the better dealerships like Calterdons BMW or the Audi folk, down "motor alley" who they use. If anyone will know, they will.

Off to mop up the leak in my downstairs bathroom ceiling [:(]

Theres a bloke in culloden who repairs all the dents/scrapes for calterdon, think his companies called auto or paint tecniq but i'll check the phone book tomorrow if i mind. He only does small sort of airbrush work though so depending on how big a job it is might be of no use[:(]

"ChipsAway" (chipsaway.co.uk) is a franchised outfit for minor paint rectification.

I'm not sure if there's one in Inverness - check the website for details of your nearest operator (you need to phone or send them an e mail.)

I used them to repair the scuffing damage to the front spoiler on my Carrera. The blending in and colour match were perfect.

911 & Porsche world ran an article some time ago in which ChipsAway repaired damage to the front bumper of a 964; verdict was very good.

Paradoxically they are however reluctant to do stone chips as tiny areas are very difficult to blend in.

Sorry have to disagree that is what they do best, hence the name.I have used a guy Dave Ross in Glasgow and a few friends have also used him with good results.

I think It depends on what your local franchise operator is prepared to undertake, it's at their discretion; for example I believe metallic silvers are particularly hard to touch up and it could result in the repairs standing out more than the original stonechips themselves.

Certain colours are I agree could be difficult ,but the way the paint is matched it should be perfect give them the code first and they should let you know if they can do it .
